A flock of yellow-tailed black cockatoos has retur

A flock of yellow-tailed black cockatoos has returned to the neighbourhood. They evade photos and force me just to enjoy the moment. I made a small composition earlier in the year to capture a black cockatoo in flight.

Pentagons such interesting shapes. Kind of defiant

Pentagons such interesting shapes. Kind of defiant. Unlike triangles, squares, hexagons and octagons, regular pentagons cannot be arranged in a tessellation. (This is because five interior angles do not divide into 360° evenly.) Then when you distort a five-sided shape, other interesting angles can appear in the negative space.

This array of pentagon log cabins reminds me of colours I can see when I scrunch my eyes close.
