Welcome to the home of Serendipity Patchwork & Quilting!
May 2012 - What's New?!
I am honoured that two of my works, Regrowth and Hope, Promise, Bounty: Reap What You Sow
are featured in the exhibition Regeneration: Contemporary Quilt Textiles at Manly Art Gallery & Museum,
27 April to 4 June 2012. Join me for an artist talk at the gallery on Sunday, 13 May 2012 at 3pm.
In 2012, I am travelling with the Craft and Sewing Shows as Guest Artist.
Come along and see my dyeing and other surface design demonstrations.
Join me in Newcastle (16-19 August), Townsville (4-7 October) and Melbourne (25-28 October).
You can find tutorials for many of the techniques under the FREE STUFF tab.
I am also curator of the Beneath the Southern Sky travelling exhibition of textile works.
An element of serendipity is integral to the art of quilt making. Even with the most meticulous planning, the fusion of colour, shape and texture through fabric and stitching yields often unexpected results. This quality of surprise encourages the quiltmaker to explore new techniques and possibilities.
Each quilt is not only a piece of art but is also a functional and enduring textile form bringing pleasure and comfort for many years.
