Mounting an exhibition takes preparation. With 9 days until the opening of my solo exhibition Natural Abstractions, my action item today was to start mounting the Copa Abstractions collection ready for display and sale. For the last year, the completed textile sketches have resided in this shoe box:
I say “completed” but I still had to add labels to the back. I was planning to use the Epson transparent transfer product as set out in my Printed Quilt Label Tutorial but wasn’t happy with the results as the transfer film clouded up. Fortunately, I had an alternative product (Ausinc’s T-Shirt Transfer Paper) that has an opaque white background. This is how they look:
It ‘s a good job to do it one batch but it takes time… I only managed to get four pieces fully mounted in shadow box frames today but I have worked out my systems and expect to be faster tomorrow. Remember, you can follow me over on Instagram too:
