My main sewing machine started to protest during the quilting of Crop Circles so it is taking a well-earned sojourn with the Bernina technician. I have a back up machine which works pretty well but lacks certain features (such as kneelift and needle up/needle down) that you don’t realise you have etched so well into your muscle memory until you go to do something and nothing happens.
Machine piecing is my preferred modus operandi but I do handwork from time to time, especially when I am travelling. This 70cm x 85cm 1000 pyramids quilt centre (look away Erica, it’s not your favourite colour scheme) has been sitting in my UFO pile for over three years (gulp!):
The original vision was to design some applique flowers for two corners on the diagonal but now I think I ‘ll leave the borders plain and put my energies into other projects.
