After the complexity of making High Country Lupins #3, I have felt an urge to simplify my work. Recently, I have been exploring pared back lines, fields of colour and the design principle of economy. And guess what I am discovering anew? Elegant simplicity is hard. Really hard. From a visual perspective, every line and shape counts and every awkward angle calls for attention. From a technical perspective, piecing these designs presents an engineering challenge.

Brenda, Simplicity IS really complicated to achieve, and this piece certainly has the makings of it.
Having just sold a piece called “elegant silence” you are tempting me to try a series called “elegant simplicity.”
Thank you in advance for the impetus!
