I am excited to share Landlines: Canola Country (122x102cm) in the Dare to Differ 2022 at Gallery M in Adelaide until 25 September 2022. This biennial event is presented by SA Quilters and is open to textile artists from across Australia. I appreciate the opportunity to at last exhibit this work in the cloth after two pandemic-induced virtual outings: Australian Textile Art Award 2020 and Sydney Quilt Show Online 2021.
Landlines:Canola Country recalls a road trip through the Riverina when the canola fields were in bloom. Every turn in the road and crest of a hill brought a new uplifting vista of yellow. My attempt to take photos while the car was in motion resulted in a vivid blur punctuated by fence posts and the occasional tree.
Candy Walker kindly sent me this installation image.
Victoria Yurkova has published a selection of images from the Dare to Differ 2022 opening on her Facebook page and SA Quilters have published this slideshow. However, I have not been able to locate any published catalogue or other means of identifying the artists and their artwork.
