The Modern Quilt Show Australia 2019 is on this weekend 17 and 18 August at the Kiama Pavillion from 10am-4.30pm Saturday and 10am -3pm Sunday. I am delighted to be able to share two small quilts there: Integrifolia #4: Potential and Harlequin Hexagons.
Integrifolia #4: Potential (84x84cm) is part of my Botanica series. I first exhibited this work at the Third China Shenzhen International Quilt Art & Handicrafts Exhibition in May. I am so happy that it has another outing at the Modern Quilt Show Australia 2019. I am also excited that it was awarded 1st prize in the small quilt category. (Thanks to Carolynne Gordon for snapping the ribbon photo for me.)
The cone-like fruits of the banksia integrifolia contain elliptical chambers that open up to release feathery seeds full of potential. Each cone is the embodiment of possibilities.
Harlequin Hexagons (86x86cm) is from my Improvisation Plus workshop. There are some spaces in my class at Auckland Quilt Symposium. Join me if you can!
