This month I have had two artworks on display in international exhibitions. Dreamlines #5: Allagai Waves was at the Quilt Expo en Beaujolais and High Country Lupins #3 is showing at Art Quilt Elements 2016 at the Wayne Art Center in Philadelphia until 30 April 2016. What do these two works have in common? They were both originally made for the biennial Golden Textures Contemporary Quilt Exhibition curated by Jenny Bacon.
Rather the submitting images of completed works, Australian textile artists are invited to submit concept designs for proposed new works. Works may may be any shape or size, 2D or 3D and there is no set theme. Entries for Golden Textures 2017 close on 27 May 2016. Further information is set out below.
Also pictured are works by Rosemary Hoffenberg, Karen Schulz and Marti Plager (above) and Susan Leonard (below). See the online catalogue. A print catalogue is available from Amazon -affiliate link.

Biennial Contemporary Quilt Exhibition
Central Goldfields Art Gallery, Maryborough, Victoria
Acquisitive Prize $3000A curated exhibition with specific selection criteria, open to selected textile artists who are resident in Australia. 2017 is the third biennial exhibition, and we hope to continue to enhance the Gallery’s expertise and reputation in showing contemporary quilt art. By exhibiting a selection of work from a group of artists, we want to demonstrate the range of work being done in Australia today. The prize-winning quilt will be retained as part of Central Goldfields Art Gallery’s permanent collection.
