A month or two ago, Beth Miller contacted me with a story that will be familiar to many textile artists. She had a website but it was out of date and a bit tired in places. It had been set up by a family member who is now busy with other things. Beth wanted to add images of her latest work. More than that, she was wondering whether there was a way for her to learn how to make updates herself so that she didn’t need to call in favours whenever she had new things to share.
Together we reviewed her website arrangements. We decided to migrate her site to WordPress; freshen up the layout; set up gallery pages to showcase her textile art; start a blog and carry out some telephone tutorials. You can see the results at:
In her very first blog post, Beth talks about how she created her stitched work Canberra: the Planned City for the recent exhibition by the tACTile group and how it evolved due to circumstances. As a brand new blogger, I am sure Beth will appreciate it if you stop by and leave a comment.
Remember, if you would like to set up a new website or freshen up a existing site, I provide website design services. Feel free to contact me to discuss your website needs.
I use and recommend Bluehost web hosting and Premium Themes on the Genesis Framework (affiliate links).
