It worked out that I was able to hang the Beneath the Southern Sky exhibition and set up my guest artist studio space at the Auckland Craft & Sewing Show on Tuesday afternoon. Here’s a glimpse in advance (plus there are photos on the Beneath the Southern Sky Facebook Page):
This meant that I had all of Wednesday to spend as I pleased. For those of you who don’t know, I lived in Auckland for five years as a university student and have many family and friends here. It’s great to be back in town. I’ll post some more photos tomorrow. In the meantime, here is a surprising (to me at least) fibre art installation in one of the conference rooms at an Auckland law firm where I was catching up with a friend.(Give me an art quilt any day!)

Ug. That installation doesn’t thrill me at all. Are they crocheted circles? It seems too small for the space. But I can totally imagine one of YOUR pieces there — in that fresh, white setting.
Beneath the Sky looks beautiful.
