My quilt Evergreen entered the Thomas Contemporary Quilt Collection as a gift to acknowledge the generous support that Del Thomas has given to the Twelve by Twelve International Art Quilt Challenge enabling us to share our work at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Cincinnati (13-15 April) and Long Beach (27-29 July). This quilt is inspired by the forests of the Pacific Northwest where I was an exchange student in 1983.
I am honoured that Evergreen is one of 40 quilts included in the exhibition Selections from The Thomas Contemporary Quilt Collection that opens at Visions Art Gallery in San Diego today and continues until 22 April.
Del Thomas is a passionate patron of contemporary quiltmaking. Indeed Visions Art Museum: Contemporary Quilts and Textiles is pleased to announce the naming of The Del Thomas Gallery in recognition of Del’s support over the years and for her major financial commitment to Visions over the next five years. Thank you Del.
PS: Sally Westcott, is the winner of the book Masters: Art Quilts Volume 2 in my giveaway. She’s had a big week as one of her textile works was also selected for Beneath the Southern Sky.

Hi! Brenda,
Congratulations on having Evergreen chosen for the Del Thomas Gallery exhibition. Took the link over there and it was lovely to see the Twelve by Twelve’s quilts all together on show somehow they looked brighter and cheery than when I see them of the web site
