I didn’t mean to disappear from the blogosphere but so far October has been all about PPPs – personal, private projects that are important but not very blogworthy. My PPPs included:
- preparing and lodging my tax return which turned out to be more convoluted this year but, on the upside, I actually get a refund in time for hitting the marketplace at the International Quilt Festival (how many sleeps now?);
- getting a new electronic security travel authorization (ESTA) – kind of important when you want to travel to the US under the visa waiver program;
- preparing and submitting four exhibition proposals including for the Beneath the Southern Sky travelling exhibition – don’t forget entries close on 25 January;
- buying new underwear – always a dispiriting experience (nothing fits right), only slightly better than swimsuit shopping;
- bedding down the new forum function in the “For Members” area of the Ozquilt Network website. If you belong to the Ozquilt Network – check it out!;
- spending many hours analysing pre-pay phone plans before concluding that my circa 1998 post-pay plan still offers best value despite my low-volume phone use; and
- substantially completing the piecing of a large quilt top.

I like that pile of scraps very much.

My Month so far has been much the same – but smaller! The tax is done – refund before I leave. Electronic visa sorted! Internationphone sorted (have to remember to turn off data ). Beneath the Southern Sky quilt designed (I’ve only done that once before! designed a quilt before I’ve put cutter to fabric). Now just counting down the days!

PS I had a pile of scrapes like that once – I coildn’t throw them away and I finally turned them into a small woven wall hanging

Hmm. You’ve been making Halloween tagliatelle again!

those scraps look yummy … in more ways than one actually – they kind of look like a salad with lettuce and capsicum and bacon 😉
