After a very pleasant stayover in Tasmania, including the obligatory trip to the recently opened Museum of Old and New Art, we are now on the road. These gum blossoms were near our lunchtime picnic spot. Can anyone tell me what they are?
Thanks to Bron, I now know this is a hakea.
PS: I succumbed and bought a broadband wireless USB so, as long as I have a signal (which is not always assured in this part of the world), I have internet connectivity.

Hi there, I’ve just come across your blog. I’m thinking from your post that you’re traveling in Tasmania at the moment? Good for you – I wish I was. The picture of the Hakea flowers grabbed my attention – they’re beautiful. I love Australian native flowers like the Hakea’s, Grevillea, Banksias etc
I hope you’re having a great time whatever you’re up to. Love your site!
