I’m a little slow but I’ve almost finished stitching the discharge work that I made in the lead up to the “Rusty” Twelve by Twelve challenge.
One of the many things that I enjoy with the Twelve by Twelve project is the opportunity to explore new techniques in small pieces without a huge investment of time and materials. Yesterday I was introduced to a range of other surface design techniques and my brain is whirring with the possibilities.

Ooh, Brenda, I like the elegance of this. The stitching adds a lovely element, too.

It turned out lovely. I like the little pop of turquoise thread. ๐

Your piece is wonderful – what dyes do you use?
Brenda says
Hi Joan – thanks for stopping by. This piece has a long history. Originally I dyed it orange with Procion dyes for the Twelve by Twelve Passion theme. Then I overdyed it with black in a failed attempt at shibori for the Kilauea Colorplay challenge. Then for the Rusty challenge, I applied gel bleach to create a discharge pattern taking it back to orange. This link has more information
