I am quite prone to motion sickness so, with the wild seas of recent days, it was with some trepidation that I ventured onto the ferry to Palm Beach today for a show and tell to promote Serendipity Wednesdays at The Cottage Quiltworks.
As it turned out, the Broken Bay crossing was not too treacherous and I did not turn green. Even better, there was an enthusiastic turn out for my presentation and many people signed up for my workshops. The 25 June workshop (Making Waves) is fully booked but there are spaces available in the other workshops so call Jann or Chris on (02) 9918 7550 to reserve your place. If you would like to learn some of the techniques used in my Twelve by Twelve water-themed quilt Coriolis, then Serendipity Circles is the workshop for you!

Have you tried the acupressure bands for motion sickness? I too get very travel sick but they work really well in almost all conditions. (Except the day I was very sick on landing after one domestic flight but that was the day they were delaying flights because it was so windy the steps to the aircraft were falling over on the tarmac – and this was London Gatwick not some mostquito plane at a little airstrip! In fact I was so ill that they let me sit on the plane a while and the pilot came out to apologise! ). You have an acupucture/ pressure point on our wrist that controls your sense of motion apparently. The bands velcro around your wrist and have a domed button that press on that point – you get instructions on how to find it. You can buy them at airports and chemists. I used to be OK on trains but Virgin introduced swaying trains on the London route – fast but nasty – but if I wear the bands I am OK.
