Demonstrating once again that quilts have a mind of their own, the pastel “pencil case” quilt turned into a decidedly Prettily Pastel quilt perhaps not so suited for a baby boy. It’s the overall effect:
Meanwhile the Ripple Quilt is proving temperamental to photograph. Yes, there is a slight lean to the right panel but overall the quilt is rectangular, truly:
In other news, my sister Amy has just returned from 2 or 3 weeks in India and has posted some photos on her blog on 11 April and also in March. My sister Chantel has also set up a blog with a snowboarding focus. Blogging can be contagious!

Love your colour sense so much, Brenda. When you figure out how to teach an internet-based course in seeing, sign me up!
I printed a picture of the Ripple Quilt and cut a circle from it to insert in these magnetic jars with picture windows I have near my desk. I did one from Erica Spink’s blog too so now I have my own mini Erica and Brenda gallery at work. –Monica
Update by Brenda: You can now see the jars on Monica’s blog.

The pastel quilt did turn out rather “girly” but sometimes it is just the way the quilt wants to go — there are times when fabric does have a mind of its own. I do love the ripple quilt, but what is it with those quilts that don’t want their picture taken? Do they know they are destined for stardom and so are shunning the paparazzi?
