Since I’ve been enjoying monoprinting and want to do some more, I decided it was time to get the proper equipment. To date, I’ve improvised and have been using my quilting rulers. It works but it’s not ideal as the paints leave permanent stains.
I inquired about acrylic printing plates at a local art supply store and was directed to Fairlite Plastics who promptly custom cut three, 3mm squares to order. These are 15x15cm, 30x30cm and 40x40cm: And I picked up some extra textile paints on sale for $3 each at Gosford Spotlight:

That is the coolest thing I have seen in a while. How did you so this. I am missing something with the directions. I am not sure what I am looking at but I want to make this. Any direction on how to learn would be helpful. Thanks

Thanks for stopping by Tommy. I created these pohutukawa flower (a native of New Zealand) pieces by means of monoprinting. This is a simple process where you apply paint a flat surface, in my case I used one of my plastic quilting rulers!, scrape away to form a pattern and then flip the flat surface/plastic ruler face down on to fabric as a kind of stamp. Easy!
