According to some calendars, today is the first day of the Australian spring. All I know is that the days are starting to get longer which means the birds start the business of eating earlier. This morning awoke to the sound of lorikeet chatter. It’s hardly birdsong but it still makes me smile. 1 September (US time) is reveal day for the Lorikeet Colourplay challenge. I’ll show the “official” piece later today. In the meantime, here is the unofficial piece – Dreamlines #4: Lorikeet Dreaming, a continuation of my Dreamlines series:

I really like this series of yours. They remind me strongly of this piece by Brandy Tjungurrayi at the National Museum http://www.nma.gov.au/exhibitions/yiwarra_kuju/natawalu/slideshow_2_1.html

If this is the runner up, I can’t wait to wee first place!

Again, I find myself staring at the work you do. AMAZING. I look forward to getting your blog updates, it always means there is something exciting to see and read. Thanks so much for sharing your work and your talent, they both put a smile on my face.

Brenda,
The unofficial “Lorikeet Dreaming” is very sparkly with colour, look forward to tomorow well I can see the official verson.. WE get serenaded by Wattle Birds (the big ones wit huge wattle hanging off their face), the sound is not bird like at all, one bird book described it as sounding like someone vomiting, so I think maybe Lorikeets might be a little better
