Continuing with a botanical theme, week 22 of my weekly art project (or week 7 for 2017) considers gum blossoms and a complementary colour combo of red, green and chartreuse.
I hit a snag with the quilting. Don’t you hate it when this happens!
The chartreuse centre is inset-pieced. It’s kind of fiddly at the small scale, and I haven’t had the same amount of practice as Candy, so the edge could be smoother but it didn’t take too long:

ooh Brenda, nice to inspire you 🙂 I am honoured! Did you use freezer paper & glue? Gives the best result, but my experiments have been about how to avoid the glue & instead use double paper, sticky tape & other assorted versions….
I LOVE eucalypts & this piece.
I’m still working in turquoise representing summer but the fabric is running out & so is the season….wondering what will come next & still very much enjoying the challenge. I have at least 6 little sketches each week on used envelopes so lots of places to go.
