The revamped Gosford Art Prize attracted 583 entries this year. 153 works were selected for exhibition and two of them were mine – Forest and Tundra:
Both of these works have previously toured interstate but this is the first opportunity I have had to view them on exhibition myself. The exhibition opening was well attended. It was fun to see my work strategically positioned right next to the entrance to the main gallery and as a backdrop to the speaker’s podium:
To the right of my pieces is Misty Track by Andrew Grassi Kelaher. We share a centre page of the catalogue too:
The catalogue includes commentary from the judge Brenda Croft who was previously Senior Curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art at the National Gallery of Australia . The $15,000 prize was awarded to Pamela Honeyfield for her abstract painting Dusk Falls Across the Flinders. (More photos will soon be on the Gosford Regional Gallery Facebook Page.) The Gosford Art Prize 2015 exhibition is at Gosford Regional Gallery from 26 September -29 November 2015. The gallery is open daily from 10am-4pm along with the Edogawa Commemorative Gardens.
