Yesterday, at the invitation of the Pearl Beach Craft Group, I presented a pop up display of Living Colour! at the Pearl Beach Memorial Hall which is about 30 minutes from my home. The hall is a valuable facility built in the 1950s complete with a robust hardwood floor; special lighting; a catering kitchen; a photo of the Queen and a community “tapestry” permanently on display that you can see in the background:
I was pleased to discover that my portable hanging equipment accommodated all 32 works hung back to back. The Da Lite Background System is designed for multimedia screens and drapes. The cross bars were stretched to full capacity for this assignment and bowed a little under the weight. However, it proved to be a very effective way to display the exhibition on a short-term, pop-up basis with minimum fuss.
Living Colour! is now on its way to the United States. See it next at:
- AQS Quilt Week Grand Rapids, Michigan: 12-15 August 2015;
- AQS Quilt Week Chattanooga, Tennessee: 16-19 September 2015; and
- AQS Quilt Week Des Moines, Iowa: 30 September-3 October 2015.

I think it’s awesome that you went out of your way to provide this. Curator extraordinaire!
