For many months, my laser printer has displayed a message Cyan Cartridge: Replace Soon. Naturally I was half way through printing materials for France when that message changed to Replace Cyan Cartridge. Not to worry, I had a spare cyan cartridge ready to go. But then there was a clunk and a loud whirring sound and this message appeared:
My heart sank. Last time this happened, I had to call in a technician, an expensive proposition in my locality. I turned the printer off, to stop the perpetual whirring noise, and went to bed feeling discouraged.
I awoke with a new sense of purpose. I remembered that the technician had shown me a trick. If you poke a screwdriver into the innards of the printer, it depresses a button that enables you to spin the carousel of toner cartridges to bring it to the correct position to carry out the replacement. I grabbed a screwdriver, poked and manipulated. It worked! The horrid noise abated and, in less than five minutes, I was back to printing again.
What a great way to start the day! The sense of empowerment from a simple tip was so uplifting. Do you have an empowerment story?
