Circles are powerful design elements creating movement and interest. I have two Zoom workshops coming up this month that explore circular motifs:
- FUNdamentally Circles: 5-8am Thursday 14 July
- Beyond FUNdamentally Circles: 5-8am Thursday 21 July (only for graduates of FUNdamentally Circles)
In FUNdamentally Circles, you will learn versatile techniques for freeform cutting and PIECING circles without templates or pins. Explore the design possibilities of circles – fractured, distorted, quartered and more. Deconstruct a classic shape into something new and individually expressive.
In Beyond FUNdamentally Circles we go deeper into the design possibilities of half circles and other curvilinear shapes to create your own dynamic compositions.
This is the last time that I will be hosting these workshops directly in 2022 (you can still book me for your Guild or group). Times and dates are shown in Sydney time. My Thursday 5am is Wednesday afternoon in North America and Wednesday evening in the UK and Europe. Use the Time Zone Converter Tool to calculate the time at your location.
I would love for you to join me! Book online.
Circular Explorations at the Australasian Quilt Convention 2022
Check out the student gallery from my Circular Explorations workshop at the Australasian Quilt Convention 2022 in Brisbane. Building on my Zoom teaching experience, when I teach in-person I now use an overhead camera and digital projector so that my demonstrations can be easily viewed on-screen without everyone having to crowd around. I also use a voice amplifier in challenging acoustical environments which is a real voice saver for consecutive days of teaching.
