Subscribe to my Serendipity Studio Newsletter and you will receive a free PDF pattern for my power-stripping project “Melody 33” which uses 33 selvedge-to-selvedge 2 1/2in strips. Ideal for jelly rolls and stash-busting. (If you are already a subscriber, check your in box for the download or you can use the link at the end of this post.)
For too long, things have been sitting idle and out of sight: quilts, fabric, patterns and more. It’s time to release them out into the world. This is my gift to you and a gift to myself.
I first made this piano key inspired quilt back in 2010 as part of my “power-stripping” series of designs. It featured as a project in Down Under Quilts magazine in 2011.
Last week, I wrapped up Melody 33 with a bow and dispatched it to the other “other” Copacabana – the one in Rio de Janiero where there is a lively 18-month old Cecilia who will get to enjoy it. So much better than having it folded up in a cupboard.
Of course, I have lots more fabric in my stash so I have started a new melody. I invite you to quilt-along with me. Download the pattern. Reacquaint yourself with those precious fabrics and start power-stripping! Send me a photo or use these hash tags:
I will also be hosting an informal Zoom session where you can share YOUR melody designs and we can talk about the joys of power-stripping. Watch out for details!
