While I am accompanying the Beneath the Southern Sky exhibition at the Australasian Quilt Convention in Melbourne this week, my own work is on tour in various places.
The International Quilt Festival opens in Cincinnati on the evening of 12 April and there is a special exhibit of all 288 art quilts of the Twelve by Twelve International Art Quilt Challenge from the Theme Series and the Colorplay Series. None of the Twelves can make it in person but we are grateful for sponsorship from the Thomas Contemporary Quilt Collection that means we can share our project with you “in the cloth”. There is so much more detail and texture to see when you get up close and personal! My quilt Pohutukawa Taonga is also on display at Cincinnati. If any reader is going to the Festival, I would love to see photos!
Speaking of the Thomas Contemporary Quilt Collection, I am honoured that Evergreen is one of 40 quilts included in the exhibition Selections from The Thomas Contemporary Quilt Collection that continues at Visions Art Gallery in San Diego today until 22 April.
Australia Wide Two, a travelling exhibition of the Ozquilt Network Inc, opened at Bunbury Regional Art Gallery in Western Australia this week and continues until 20 May.
Meanwhile, I do not have any quilts on exhibition at the Australasian Quilt Convention but if you buy a copy of the book Twelve by Twelve:The International Art Quilt Challenge (available at AQC from Can Do Books), and bring it along to my daily Beneath the Southern Sky floortalk at 12.30pm, I will happily sign it for you. In any event, please stop by and say hello!
