A New Year is full of promises and promise. Resolutions abound and there is potential for wonderful things to happen. For me, a promise that is uppermost in my mind is my commitment to complete a large pieced work and a shibori triptych for the forthcoming Regeneration exhibition of contemporary quilt textiles. The exhibition doesn’t open until 27 April but completed works must be delivered in early February.
Thanks to a new walking foot for my 10 year old Bernina, I am making good progress on machine quilting the pieced work. (The previous walking foot was dropped too many times and was causing tension problems. Upon reflection, I should have replaced it months ago but a misguided sense of thrift prevailed.) I am hand stitching the shibori triptych and have a long way to go. Here’s a glimpse of Promise.

Brenda,
Such a lovely colour on your triptych deatail, certainly a lot of work to get through by February, if the sample is anything to go by it will be really stunning good luck with it. PS. have changed my email address.

I like where you’ve started on the shibori stitching. It’s going to be worth time, I know. 🙂 Sounds like your year is off to a great, creative start.
