Just when we thought we couldn’t take any more rain, the storms have rolled in again. It makes spotting migrating whales kind of difficult, not that I have had much time for gazing out of my studio window.
I took my first consignment of twelve Quilt Show quilts on Thursday and yesterday I prepared them for judging. This involves checking that there is a hanging sleeve; masking name and other details on labels; pinning on various tags and laying the quilts out flat until next weekend. This little exercise took me almost two hours but, on the upside, I had an opportunity to view some beautiful quilts. That’s one of the perks of being a “Drop Off Lady”.
Then today some friends and I braved the wet and slippery highways to travel to Sydney for the Guild meeting. What a treat! Not only did we get an advance preview of the 13 prize winning quilts in the Guild’s calendar challenge but New Zealand quiltmaker Mary Transom shared her enormous suitcase of beautiful floral quilts.
