Earlier this week I referred to management fads and the penchant in some circles for psychometric testing. According to this test, What’s Your Personality Type?, found on Paula‘s blog, I would make a great lawyer (been there, done that!) along with a sizeable chunk of the rest of the population. As if we didn’t already have enough lawyers.
You Are An ISTJ |
The Duty FulfillerYou are responsible, reliable, and hardworking – you get the job done. You prefer productive hobbies, like woodworking or knittings. Quiet and serious, you are well prepared for whatever life hands you. Conservative and down-to-earth, you hardly ever do anything crazy. You would make a great business executive, accountant, or lawyer. |
Other times that I have submitted to such tests in supposedly more rigorous circumstances, I come up as a more rare INTJ. The wikipedia entry on Myers Briggs shows percentages of types using inferential statistics and the US population:
ISTJ 11.6% ISFJ 13.8% INFJ 1.5% INTJ 2.1%
ISTP 5.4% ISFP 8.8% INFP 4.4% INTP 3.3%
ESTP 4.3% ESFP 8.5% ENFP 8.1% ENTP 3.2%
ESTJ 8.7% ESFJ 12.3% ENFJ 2.4% ENTJ 1.8%
Ahem. Perhaps betraying my eye to detail, I’ve just worked out that this adds up to 100.2%…

What fun! I came up an “INFJ”. Crazy thing thinks I’d make a good teacher, my hubby about died laughing over that 🙂
