For Week 16 of my weekly art project, I go underwater. On Christmas Day I borrowed the Laundry King’s waterproof camera and took some photos of the kelp encrusted rocks while swimming at the northern end of Copacabana. I am no Jacques Cousteau – between short sightedness, foggy goggles and just trying to stay in one place in the waves, it was very much a case of point, shoot and hope but these images give you an idea of the rich colours and movement:
Back on dry land, I did a doodle on my iPad to capture a rough composition that I then translated into fabric:
Join me in January!
Welcome to all those who have pledged to join me in January including newcomers Ali George and Lyn Weeks who have each decided to focus on the element “line” for the first quarter of 2017. Ali will be working in fabric and Lyn will be sketching.
I look forward to seeing YOUR weekly art project. New participants are welcome to join in at any time. Make a pledge for 2017. Join me for the month of January and see how it goes!
