On Saturday, I joined Fairholme Quilters in the northern suburbs of Sydney to share the secrets of Power Stripping – striking designs that grow quickly with minimum fuss and maximum fabric economy.
This is always a productive class and the students were buzzing with ideas of how to incorporate power stripping techniques into the Fairholme Quilters active charity quilt program. Here are some photos from the day. Other quilts in progress can be send in the Power Stripping Student Gallery on Flickr. Miriam is a new quilter and is well on her way to completing her variation of Melody 33.
Robyn is making a version of Tapestry in a limited palette:
Jo has a Mocha Latte vibe happening in her quilt:
And batiks made an appearance in other designs:
Janice has purples to a “T”; Jill is working in autumn tones; and Dawn is making the most of her jelly roll of Kona solids:
This is my last teaching engagement for 2012 but there are still some gaps in the Serendipity Workshops Calendar for 2013. Download my Serendipity Patchwork & Quilting Workshops Brochure and let me know if you would like me to come to your shop or group to teach a workshop.
PS: Don’t forget that bookings open today for the Australasian Quilt Convention 2013. Be quick to reserve your place.
