Remembering Fromelles – 100 years
On 19 July 1916, the Battle of Fromelles opened on the Western Front. Within 14 hours, 5500 Australian casualties, 1900 dead. Lest we forget. The discovery, recovery and identification of the fallen soldiers was the inspiration for my Twelve by Twelve identity-themed work – Lost & Found at Fromelles.
