Allagai: High Summer

16 January 2019 Filed Under: Monthly Art Project, My Surroundings, Twelve by Twelve Leave a Comment

The start of a new year is an opportunity for me to revise and reset the S.M.A.R.T. parameters for my Monthly Art Project. S.M.A.R.T.  is an acronym for: specific, measurable, achieveable, realistic and timebound. With this in mind, this is my pledge: Each month (January-June 2019), I will make a 30x30cm (12x12in) textile sketch that is […]

30 March 2017 Filed Under: My Surroundings, Twelve by Twelve, Weekly Art Project 2 Comments

For Week 27 of my Weekly Art Project I am revisting a familiar theme. Some of you may recall that I set [rainbow] Lorikeet as the palette for the Twelve by Twelve International Art Quilt Project Colourplay challenge. These bright coloured birds feed on the banksias outside my window studio and entertain me with their antics. They […]

Lost and Found at Fromelles

Remembering Fromelles – 100 years

19 July 2016 Filed Under: Twelve by Twelve Leave a Comment

On 19 July 1916, the  Battle of Fromelles opened on the Western Front.  Within 14 hours, 5500 Australian casualties, 1900 dead.   Lest we forget. The discovery, recovery and identification of the fallen soldiers was the inspiration for my Twelve by Twelve identity-themed work – Lost & Found at Fromelles.

My first full day in Marrakech was completed by a 3 hour food tour. A multi-sensory experience meandering through the medina. And, yes, I did get a teensy bit lost making my way back to the riad afterwards… @moroccanfoodadventures

My short time in Marrakech began with pouring rain and ended with a glorious sunset from a rooftop bar overlooking Koutoubia mosque against a backdrop of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. 🌴🌅
