Australia Wide Six , an Ozquilt Network members’ exhibition, premieres at 76 Queen Street Galleries, Concord West, Sydney 31 August – 18 September 2018 and continues on tour until September 2020. Two of my artworks were selected for the exhibition.
Recently I have been working with a palette of clear, bright semi-solid hand-dyes. For this work, it was fun to pull out some more subdued, mottled fabrics from my stash.
All works in Australia Wide Six must be 40x40cm (approximately 16x16in). One of the challenges of making works to a specific size is ensuring that key design elements fit within the permitted parameters. Here is piecing in progress.

The tour program for Australia Wide Six is under development and includes venues in NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia and Northern Territory. I hope you get the opportunity to view the exhibition in the cloth. In the meantime, check out the Australia Wide Six online gallery.

Its interesting to see your provocation/inspiration and then how you placed and pieced and stitched. How your works reflects your photo without being literal. its a careful balance.
