My creative challenge for 2018 is Taking Shape: Cues from Nature – a monthly art project. Rather than botanical subjects, this month I draw my inspiration from furry creatures that have taken up residence in a lantana thicket on the neighbour’s land. First there was one. Then it was joined by a white companion…
So far, there’s been no evidence of progeny but I am more aware of rabbits in my environment. This is one I see in a park at Avoca on my morning walk/run.
I am always on the look out for interesting shapes. Those ears were irresistable! Oh and it was Easter too. Here are some sketches from my iPad:
And then a fabric audition: Stitching adds welcome texture. The centres are free-motion quilted. The blue is straight-line stitching and the background is zig-zagged to reference the grass that the rabbits graze on:
