I consider myself a relative newcomer to quilting and textile art so it comes as a shock to realise that it is actually 30 years since I made my first quilt in the summer of 1984/1985 (read more about the seersucker extravaganza). Admittedly, there was then a fifteen year hiatus as I completed my university studies, moved to Australia and embarked on my legal and project management career.
Fast forward another fifteen years to 2015 and Queens Birthday weekend again found me in a fabric store. This time I was stocking up on felt and threads.
I came home and engrossed myself in colour and design.? It was very good for the soul and seemed a fitting way to spend the 15th anniversary of making my first baby quilt.
PS: Speaking of time, don’t forget about the call for entries for my next travelling textile art exhibition – a matter of time. Entries close on 15 January 2016.
