More from Paducah

29 April 2013 Filed Under: Exhibition: Beneath the Southern Sky, Teaching, Twelve by Twelve

My teaching and exhibition program in Paducah, along with limited Internet access, was not conducive to blogging. I didn’t even take that many photos. Rather I decided to focus on soaking up the festive atmosphere that pervades Quilt City, USA and getting to know some of the other quilters that I met along the way. Here are a few highlights:

A photo to gladden the heart of any teacher. A new quiltmaker excited about the possibilities of learning new skills and making things:

You can see more photos from the Strata Various workshop in the Serendipity Student Gallery.

Some snapshots from the Beneath the Southern Sky exhibition area. THANK YOU to everyone who came along to my informal floor talks. It was wonderful to be able to share insights into this exhibition:

Each lunchtime, rain or shine, the smell of Kentucky barbeque was in the air in the parking lot outside the convention centre. Here’s a typical menu:

Curly Taters were also popular:

Meanwhile, back in Australia, the Twelve by Twelve Colourplay exhibition opens at Pinnacles Gallery in Townsville. A special opening function is at 11am on Saturday, 4 May. All welcome.
