Week 40 means I am into the fourth quarter of my weekly art project. As I prepare for “landing”, it’s time to review my inspiration listing to make sure that I include all of the imagery that I associate with my surroundings. Pelicans are not full time residents at Copacabana but tend to hang out at the lagoon after it has been drained and the fish are close to the surface for easy pickings. They are a wonderful spectacle – clumsy on land but elegant in flight.
In abstracting the pelican design, I aimed to complement but not duplicate my Black Swan from Week 34. This is where I started at 9am this morning:
