This weekend I am teaching at Ballina on the a North Coast of New South Wales. It means I am missing the Canberra Quilters exhibition but, thanks to a fellow quilter covering my roster duty for me, I still have a work in display. Kelp Pods is the latest work in my Marine series. It measures 106x84cm (HxW):
I experimented with zig zag and serpentine stitches to create texture mimicking the dimples of kelp and foaming water.
Beth and Trevor Reid kindly sent me these snaps from the show. (If you recognise the quilts in the background, please let me know so I can credit the makers.)
