As a curator, I understand the challenges in planning and administering an exhibition especially a touring exhibition covering multiple venues. That’s why I value the exhibition opportunities offered by Ozquilt Network Inc, Australia’s organisation for art quilters.
Neptune’s Necklace #2 (40x40cm) is back from its 10-stop tour with Australia Wide Four and last week I learned that two of my works were juried into the next Ozquilt Network travelling exhibition. Australia Wide Five will be launched at the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries in Western Australia at 6pm on Friday, 23 September 2016, in conjunction with the Ozquilt Network mini-conference, and continue on tour in 2017 and into 2018.
Other highlights of the Ozquilt Network mini-conference include:
- Designing Street Savvy Textile Art a one-day workshop with Ruth de Vos;
- AW5 exhibition artists’ gallery talk (a conference exclusive); and
- one-day forum with guest speakers from Bunbury Regional Art Galleries, Ruth de Vos and Marianne Penberthy; and
- a panel discussion Artist practice – being serious about your work.
Non-members are welcome to attend the workshop and conference. Book online by 30 August 2016.
