There I was, scrolling through my Facebook feeds when a tiny thumbnail caught my eye. The image looked very familar. I clicked to enlarge and discovered that my artwork is featured on the cover of issue 23 of Down Under Textiles magazine. What a surprise and thrill!
Wild Lupins #2 was made for the QuiltNSW exhibition Evolution, Change, Challenge and was later juried into Art Quilt Australia 2015 presented by Ozquilt Network Inc – Australia’s organisation for art quilters.
As a curator and quilt show administrator, I know how much work is involved in securing quality gallery venues and presenting textile art exhibitions in a professional manner. That is just one of the reasons that I value my Ozquilt Network membership.
In addition to the biennial Art Quilt Australia open exhibition, Ozquilt Network administers the Australia Wide program, a series of biennial members’ exhibitions that tours to gallery venues throughout Australia. My artwork was selected for Australia Wide Two 2010 – 2012, Australia Wide Three 2012 – 2014, Australia Wide Four 2014 – 2016 and I am now working on my entry for Australia Wide Five.
