Today was the official opening of Art Quilt Elements 2016 at the Wayne Art Center in Philadelphia and the exhibition continues until 30 October. I could not attend myself but my artwork High Country Lupins #3 is on display and many friends were in attendance as part of the Studio Art Quilts Associates* annual conference.
Thanks to photos sent through by Deborah Boschert and Lisa Walton, here’s proof that my artwork, after an unexplained absence, was ultimately delivered by USPS to the gallery. Also pictured are works by Rosemary Hoffenberg, Karen Schulz and Marti Plager.
Interestingly, three out of four of these works are pieced and, overall, pieced work is well-represented in the exhibition. There is an online catalogue and a print catalogue is available from Amazon (affiliate link). I look forward to hearing more reports from the exhibition and the SAQA conference.
*Studio Art Quilt Associates offers many exhibition, network and mentoring opportunities for its members. If you’ve been thinking about joining SAQA, add the discount code “WKS ” to the application form (and add my name Brenda Gael Smith in the referral field) and you will receive a 10% discount on the membership fee.
