Do you have a tablet, smartphone or other mobile device with internet access? A lot of people do. Global web traffic from mobile devices is on the rise and, in the United States, the majority of digital media consumption now takes place in mobile apps (see Comscore report).
Google highlighted how Mobile-friendly sites turn visitors into customers back in 2012 and has been tracking mobile useability in its Webmaster Tools since October 2014. From 21 April Google will be expanding its use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. Websites that do not fit the mobile-friendly description will be penalised in Google’s search results. This is a significant change that some search experts are calling “Mobile-Geddon”.
