Following yesterday’s post about Lisa Walton’s e-book Fun & Easy Surface Design Techniques, here’s a photo of the cards I made using my stencilled fabric. I traced around a biscuit cutter to get my star shapes. While I was at it, I made some lime shortbread for my neighbours (see recipe below.)

Lime Shortbread
- 250g butter
- 3/4 cup caster sugar
- finely grated zest of one lime and one tablespoon of lime juice
- 1 egg, beaten
- 500g plain flour (sifted)
- pinch of salt
Cream butter and sugar. Add the zest and juice, beat. Add egg, beat. Add flour, beat.
Roll out the mixture and use Christmas cutters to cut out the shapes.
Place shapes on a baking sheet lined with non-stick baking paper.
Bake at 160 C oven for 20 minutes. [This is too long in my oven. Hence the golden hues.]
Accompanied by loud Christmas carols (optional).with thanks to Rooruu
