On this trip to Paris, we decided to stay in Montmartre. This is the view up the street of our hotel:
We could have booked a room with a distant view of the Eiffel Tower but those rooms only had a bath, no shower. The rooftop view from our room was quite satisfactory:
And on Sunday morning, we lay in bed listening to the bells of Sacre Couer:
The weather was so clear and warm on Saturday, we eschewed all galleries, churches and museums. Instead, we took the metro to the Bois du Bologne and meandered through the park.
We took a picnic beside the lake and then walked to Notre Dame via the Eiffel Tower and Tulieres Gardens (as you do) so we could have an encore of the world famous St Berthillon ice cream. Truly, the sorbet is the best I have ever tasted – super intense fruit flavours and not too sweet. Sorry, no ice cream photos – I wanted to eat it before it melted and one-handed photos are tricky. But here are so photos taken on our 23 km/35,000 steps! walk!
