Our last days in England continued an agreeable pattern of driving, walking, exploring, and eating. These swans were in Worcester where there is a network of canals (although this is the river):
We enjoyed our audio tour of the Royal Worcester Museum including commentary from Henry and Lars from Antique Roadshow. All of the audio aids we have encountered so far on this trip have been informative and well-paced and have enhanced our visitor experience. Trust me to like the test palettes best of all:
Tuesday/Wednesday was wing-it time. A day or so where we had not booked accommodation and had no specific plans other than to return the rental car at the designated time. We headed back to London via Bath, South Downs and Wiltshire Plains. The American Museum in Bath is a gem of an institution. We caught the Kaffe Fassett exhibition, a cave of colour, but I would recommend this museum anyway for its decorative arts (including quilts), historical overview and lovely gardens and grounds:
The Whitehorse near Westbury was quite a sight, but far less romantic fir knowing that it has been concreted (rather than chalked) since the 1950s:
And we slipped into Dorset for early evening at Shaftesbury:
And we could not have asked for better weather for Stonehenge:
