Thank you! to everyone who joined me at Gosford Regional Gallery on Saturday for my final curator floor for the Beneath the Southern Sky exhibition. On a quick count, I have presented more than 30 curator floor talks. I really enjoy sharing extra insights into the exhibition and receiving questions and feedback from viewers. The exhibition finishes up at Gosford on Wednesday, 26 June. It will then travel onto Festival of Quilts, UK (8-11 August 2013) and International Quilt Convention Africa (6-8 September 2013). I will not be accompanying the exhibition but you might get an opportunity to catch up with two of the artists in Birmingham, Lisa Walton and Helen Conway.
Take a look at the table of contents in the August 2013 issue of The Quilt Life magazine. The international spotlight is on “six quilt artists whose work revels in the glories of the southern hemisphere” – Dianne Firth, Jenny Bowker, Helen Godden, Alison Laurence, Debra DeLorenzo and Kay Haerland. The print version has fantastic photos and layout, including inspiration photos from the artists. You can also read the International Spotlight: Beneath the Southern Sky article online on the American Quilters Society blog. Just click the cover below.
I am curating another travelling textile art exhibition in 2014/2015. Read all about it in the Living Colour! Call for Entries. International entries are welcome. The closing date is 31 January 2014.
