More Sun Than Clouds

The Christmas holidays have involved lots of talking, laughing, eating, drinking and stories. The Laundry King got a new camera for Christmas and this is one of his first shots trying out the zoom function:

My late grandmother often decapitated us in photos, so he is continuing a fine tradition.

After days of rain, the afternoon forecast was for “more sun than clouds” so our family party of nine adults and three little ones set off for the Brick Bay Sculpture Park. The two kilometre trail meanders through gardens and native bush and includes more than forty sculptures. Here are some highlights:

Then it was off to the beach for a picnic under the Pohutukawa trees:

  1. Nice photos, but I must tell you that I am in love with that little red-headed guy you are holding!

  2. Who cares about photographic decapitation when you have a lap full of cute nephew! I like those colorful skeleton leaves too. Are they pretty large? It’s hard to tell scale, but they look like interesting “discoveries” along the trail.

    • It has been fun to spend time with my niece and two nephews who are all VERY cute. The leaves are about 1.5 metres long and half a metre wide and made out of corrugated iron.

Look at the redheads. Sam is bringing one home from Sydney to meet us in a few days.
