Waiting for Whales

I can count the number of whales that I have seen on this winter’s migration on one hand. I know they are out there but they seem to be further out to sea. So we decided to take a hike up to the Captain Cook lookout on Tudibaring headland. It’s a beautiful afternoon but we’re still waiting for whales…

PS: Within minutes of publishing this post, three whales appeared in the middle of the bay.

  1. Oh, don’t start with the whales yet — we have to wait until December before they get to us and I can’t stand the suspense. ;-)

  2. I love whale watching. I’ve only had one experience whale watching (while I was in Hawaii) as we are kinda land locked where I live. ;) Whales are amazing creatures and it’s nice to know that someone who sees them every year is still excited to see them.

  3. I was jealous of your whale posts last year but this year I think we get to go and see them in kaikoura :)
