Australis - Diversity Girt by Sea

Another quilt in my "Making Waves" series.  This quilt celebrates the diversity of colours and form
in the Australian landscape with references to: the outback; rainforest; mountains;
crops and farmland; sandhills and beaches; and the Great Barrier Reef.

The theme of diversity is carried through in the quilting.  Drawing upon the tradition of
decorative stitching in crazy quilts, each block is quilted with a different design.
A wave motif has been quilted into the surrounding ocean blue border.

Constructed from a variety of hand-dyed and commercial cotton fabrics,
using template-free curved piecing.
